Les Échines-Dessous - Haute Tarentaise

Chalet Tarine is situated in the heart of the beautiful and authentic Les Échines-Dessous (alt.1230M). A sunny south facing Tarentaise village overlooking the ski resorts of Les Arcs, La Plagne, Saint Foy and La Rosière. A 10 minute drive (6KM) down at Bourg Saint Maurice is the fast funicular access (7 Mins) to Les Arcs 1600, where you can ski the enormous PARADISKI area.

In Winter this chalet provides unique, high quality character accommodation for adventurous skiers who want the flexibility to ski several top French ski resorts all in the same week. In Summer, the village provides the perfect base for numerous alpine activities, everything from white water rafting, parapenting, kayaking, cycling, climbing or hiking. Or simply savour the relaxed picturesque mountain village with its local traditions and way of life.

The original building, over 300 years old, has been skilfully renovated with beautiful ensuite bathrooms and modern open plan living room/kitchens. A cosy wood burning stove provides a lovely warm focal point with an abundance of genuine old wooden beams and stone, preserving the natural alpine character. There are many beautiful southerly views from the bedrooms, living rooms and balconies, towards the famous national park 'La Vanoise'.

Les Échines-Dessous is one of the Tarentaise villages known as the ‘Versant Soleil’ (Sun Facing Slope), which are renowned locally for their extraordinary microclimate. Its sunny aspect complements all seasons; both bright and protected in Winter and with an almost Mediterranean warmth in Summer.

The local town of Bourg Saint Maurice provides numerous shops and restaurants, several large supermarkets, the international railway station with adjacent funicular to Les Arcs, and a lovely pedestrian high street with a colourful Saturday morning outdoor street market.
