'Ski Safari' ........... why ski just one resort?

 
The Bourg Saint Maurice funicular is a 6km drive from Chalet Tarine, and it takes just 7 minutes on
the funicular to reach Arcs 1600 from where you can ski the 400km of piste of the PARADISKI. So LES ARCS is certainly our 'Local' resort. However there are many other ski resorts accessible from Chalet Tarine, allowing an entertaining and varied holiday for adventurous skiers.

 
 
'The 3 Valleys' are home to many internationally renowned ski resorts : Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel, Brides-les-bains, Saint Martin de Belleville and Val Thorens. Together the largest ski area in the world with 600KM of piste. We find the best access point from Chalet Tarine is at 'Courcheval Le Praz'. Courcheval alone makes a great days skiing.
 

 
'Ski Without Frontiers', a lovely sunny southwest facing resort that is a favourite for families. La Rosière is easily accessed via the Ecudets Chairlift at Villard Dessus above SEEZ, about a
25 Minute drive from Chalet Tarine. La Rosiere is part of the Espace Saint Bernardo
and a single ski pass allows access to 150km of piste from which you can ski freely into the
Italian ski resort La Thuile. Order a Pizza or Polenta for lunch and ski back to France without
the need to show a passport!
 

A lovely small ski resort with gentle slopes as well as delightful and fun off piste, about a half hours drive up the valley from Chalet Tarine. Take a guide to explore one of the renowned off-piste routes to the deserted farming hamlet of Le Monal, or the infamous 1700 m vertical descent of the north face of Fogliettaz...

 
No introduction is required for the vast ski area known as the ‘Espace Killy’, with 300km of piste and unlimited off piste. Named after triple gold winning Olympic medallist Jean-Claude Killy, the area is easily accessed from Tignes Le Breviers, about 35 minutes from Chalet Tarine. Skiing is available throughout the year at the Grand Mott Glacier via the funicular from Tignes.
